Cover Mix

I finally made a mix of different covers I have found and really enjoy. This mix is pretty long its got around 46 songs on it! There are a variety of covers on here that include covers of The Pixies, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Bon Iver and ETC. SO ENJOY!

This 20 song mix is a laid back and soothing. Something you would listen to while gazing at the stars and moon. Purely enchanting in my opinion. There are also a few cover songs thrown in the mix and some songs I couldnt avoid adding due to currently playing on repeat (Haim). So I have been trying to have the motivation to study for RVT (vascular registry). As most of you know, I got a job out in Charlottesville, VA. I have 6 months to pass my vascular registry for the job, but I already applied to take it so I have until May 26th. Since this is a new job and they do alot of exams I have never seen before in clinic I need to go over everything again!! So I made a study, chill playlist for myself. Its complete with blues, indiefolk, and some soulful tunes. In creating this I have found some amazing music. I am really into folk music with alot of violin action.

Anyways here a lil update I started last week at my new job at UVa medical center. I had to do 3 days of orientation/training/cpr class. I started in the department on Tuesday, I know its not going to be a easy starting off. I am really going to have to work hard and learn! I am excited though about the future!

So I haven't been posting lately because I recently just made a huge decision in my life. If you for some reason missed the 100 posts on facebook about my recent adventure here it is....I just moved to Charlottesville, VA for a job at the UVA medical center. I am so excited about this new adventure, but I also am super nervous. I mean this is a big step I am now 9 hours away from my hometown in GA. However, I really feel in my heart that this is a great opportunity for me. Just being out of school us NEWBIES just need a chance. Most jobs around GA prefer experience. I am just thankful for such a great opportunity. Its exciting to be able to work for a hospital that is actually making money. I will of course miss my family, but I feel as if its an adventure for us all. This past weekend my parents and my sister helped me move. It was of course stressful, but I am lucky to have such supportive family to help! I am glad they got to come out and see Charlottesville. Its really pretty here. The UVA college campus is absolutely beautiful. I am lucky to be in walking distance to the University. Here some pictures of our exploring Charlottesville this weekend!

 Yes, that is a Dwight pancake. This was at my now new favorite breakfast place called Blue Moon Diner. My friends Mary and Christian took me here when I was down for my interview. I then took my family here because it was soo good. My sista ordered a pancake and this is what came out and now im in love with the place.

Favorite songs of 2011

Better late than never, but finally I have put together Best Songs of 2011 Mix. So alot of  my favorite songs from 2011 are from my favorite albums from 2011. These are the songs I listened to the most and had the most impact on me in 2011.  I used 8tracks.com for this playlist. Its my new obsession. I have a app for it on my iphone and you can listen to other peoples mixes that they have made. I love finding new music! Enjoy my favorite songs from 2011!

I wanted to share my recent playlist of some music I am listening. It features some new and older songs. I am really excited about some new music coming out. Florence and the Machine has a new album coming out Oct 31st, Ceremonials! Super stoked about it (maybe even more stoked than Halloween) and her new songs Shake it out and Only if for a night (On the playlist) are amazing. Black keys just released a new song lonely boy (on the playlist)! Its pretty awesome and I cant wait for the new album,  El Camino to come out Dec. 6th. Also, like I posted previous First Aid Kit has a new album that comes out sometime in Jan 2012 called Lions Roar.
Feist just had a album launch (Metals) Oct 3, which I want to get my hands on because the song How Come You Never Go There is awesome.
Boy & Bear is an indie rock band that my brother got me into, their album Moonfire is definitely worth listening to.

Music Mix - Must Hear!

Here's a playlist of some music Im currently listening 2. I am obsessed with City of Colours new album title Fragile Bird. I absolutely love Dallas Greens voice. Some of my fav songs are on this playlist however I didnt want to overload it with the whole cd..so I suggest you listen to it. Bon Iver new self title cd is amazing and my fav song on the album I couldnt find on youtube but found a really awesome cover of it! Enjoy!

Old School Playlist

Here are some songs that I use to listen to alot when I was middle/highschool days. I wanted to make a old school playlist because its so funny how much my music taste has changed. Most of these songs I still like, but I went thru my phases. I use to love rab/r&b/hiphop, then I went thru my rock/pop phase and then it was more of alternative/grunge/rock phase. I will admit when I went through the pop phase like every teenage girl I loved NSYNC however, I will not be added them to any of my playlist so dont worry :)....
Now I like more folk/indie/rock more than anything. However when I was younger I didnt listen to radiohead much it wasnt til college (even the older stuff) that I started listening to them so I didnt put them on my playlist
