I have been so slack at posting on my blog! I have been meaning to post this now for a while. To be honest I meant to post this about 2 weeks ago. Anyways, I finally got around to painting some new mixed media pieces. It has been gorgeous weather outside (I love Spring) and I decided it would be perfect to set up my art supplies outside!

-I am so excited about this painting. Its a little different than I normally do. It a little more neutral than most of my bright painting. I wanted to try something different and I personally like it alot.

I love elephants and I think they are perfect for a nursery! I recently painted a elephant for a coworker of mine who is expecting soon! It turned out so cute and its perfect for a baby boy! Moe the elephant is 11x14 mixed media.
I finally painted a dream catcher, which I am super excited about and WILL do more of. I have wanted to paint one for a long time, but wasn't exactly sure how I would do it since I do mixed media paintings. Its crazy how ideas just suddenly hit you. I mean I was literally in the kitchen making some coffee when I was looking a the coffee container and realized how I could do it using that as a template. Anyways I love how it turned out. I just wish I could find some where in Charlottesville, VA to display my works! If you know of anywhere let me know. This painting is a 16x20
Its been so long since I have painted! I have really missed it, but I feel like it is hard to make time to do it. Well I made time this weekend. Working full-time is tougher than I thought, but painting is a fun way to be creative. I am always excited to see the end results. So lately I have been into elephants. I want a elephant tattoo. I have read that elephants mean good luck. I did an elephant painting a while back called flirting elephants and I sold it to a friend. I figured I would do another(which ended in 2). I have recently decided to do my smaller painting because eventually I might want to open a etsy shop and I think that the 11x14 paintings will be easier to ship. Anyways here are my cute lil elephant creations. I need to take some better pics in better lighting, but since I havent painted in a while I couldnt resist posting.
So I have been super busy PAINTING. I was worried that 4 more was impossible to do before the show and almost gave up on tryin to attempt to do the last one, but I am so glad I pushed myself because I FINISHED. I am so happy how they turned out! I really wanted to do some fall inspired pieces since most of my stuff is really bright and can be associated with spring or summer.

1st off I finished a painting that I have been working on for a while about a week ago and Ive been meaning to post it.
So this week has been crazy, but awesome.
Monday I went to see Band of Horses @ the Johnny Mercer Theater in Savannah. They were pretty amazing especially when they played the funeral. His voice was amazing for this song! I mean they did great with the whole show, however it was more of a chill show. My Fav song performed off the new album was probably Laredo I wasn't able to get any pictures at the concert because immediately when we tried to take a picture we got caught by the camera police.
Tuesday went to a place in Pooler called frames and games and play laser tag, bowling and arcade game. However, I was awful at everything, but still it was so much fun and I cant wait to go back. Heres an awesome pic of laser tag. I lost horribly!
This weekend I went to the beach with my friend Helen and had a nice relaxing time! It was such a good day.
and also... Im so excited because my friend Helen got us tickets to go see Mumford & Sons in Asheville, NC! I wanted to go see them in ATL because its a bit closer, but tickets were soldout and the only way to get them is to pay ridiculous amounts of money to ticket hoards on stubhub! Im excited about a roadtrip though. I have always wanted to visit Asheville bc everyone says its beautiful! I am so excited to see this band live! This has been such a great week/weekend
I am dreading next week because I have to start studying for my next test, which is physics. I dont wanna!!
This week has been terrible and stressful. I got some bad news concerning when I will graduate and its really brought me down this whole week. However, I am trying to stay positive as best as I can because its not a definite decision yet.
I am so glad today ended up being a better day. This morning I got a huge presentation out of the way. I am just so relieved to be done with it. You know those projects that teachers make such a big deal about and then it turns out to be nothing....yep thats what this was. It was busy work but it definitely wasnt as bad as everyone made it out to be.
I also had some good news this morning, which brought my spirits up! I sold 2 paintings this month at the gallery. I don't know why, but it just makes me extremely happy when I sell a painting each time I sell one it feels like its the first one Ive ever sold!

So school is really intense right now and next month I will be taking my first registry for abdomen, which I am super nervous about. One thing that has been driving me crazy is the amount of free time I have WHICH IS NONE. If I am not at clinic, work, or studying I am sleeping and also trying to work in exercising to! Not trying to complain because I am so thankful for what I am doing and that I am able to study ultrasound.
Anyways I havent been able to do any new art, which kills me because being crafty keeps me sane! BUT I thought I would do a post of some my paintings. All are mixed media pieces.
Soon I will have a mini break and I have so many ideas going thru my head for paintings. I want to do a spring, abstractlike inspired mini collection of paintings. So hopefully I will do a posting soon about my ideas and inspiration!
About a year ago I found this artist via ARTHOUND'S BLOG! Mark Warren Jacques is an American artist and is such an inspiration! I love the detail, geometric/patterns, and colors that go into his paintings. I would describe his work as a bit celestial or cosmic . I want a print at least! Heres some of my favorites! Also love this look from Anthropologie. Im usually more of a dress lover, however these skirts are completely amazing. and for anthropologie this skirt is price reasonably.
