I saw kimbra at 930 club in Washington DC and we had a pretty good spot. She was amazing. I love her crazy dance moves. She is one talented lady and her band was pretty awesome as well! Opening for her were the Stepkids, which I have seen before. They are psychedelic funk they were pretty good, but I think I was more impressed the first time I saw them.

Concerts!!

This post is a little late. However I still wanted to post it.  I went to see Lumineers with Old Crow Medicine show and My Morning Jacket with Band of Horses.

I have been obsessed with the Lumineers lately and they put on an amazing show. I thought they were better than Old Crow Medicine Show, but it could be that the Lumineers are just more my kind of music. Old Crow Medicine Show was good, but I just couldnt get into them as much. We saw them at the Pavilion venue in Charlottesville. I really liked the venue and we got a pretty good view as well. Heres some pics of the show. I took some videos, but something happened to one of my speakers on my Iphone and the audio sounds like its muffled and far away.

This makes me wanna learn to play the cello

For my birthday I went to see Band of Horses opening for My Morning Jacket. I have seen BOH before but I have been wanting to see MMJ FOREVER! They were so good. Jim James hit every high note.  Ben Bridwell (lead singer of BOH) helped MMJ with the song Wonderful the way I feel. It was truly amazing!! Also I was so excited to see MMJ perform lay low! I had some small videos but however for some reason they will not load.

2 pair of thumbs - Mumford & Sons

So I have been trying forever to post videos from Mumford & Sons concert but apparently blogger wont let me! so I guess I will have to just post pics. Anyways sorry for being so delayed but the concert was amazing I wanna def. see them again! The show was in Asheville at the Civic center. It was a perfect venue. I love general admission concerts because its more personal! The band had an amazing stage presence and you could tell they were just having fun. They were pretty funny in their british ways. The opening bands were Matthew and the Atlas and The Low Anthem. I really liked Matthew and the Atlas alot! The low anthem just wasnt my favorite. Heres my pics

this is when the opening bands and Mumford & Sons got on stage and performed Avetts Brother's, Go to sleep..heres also a video I found on youtube from the asheville concert... my camera ended up being full by the time they played this so I didnt get any video.. Videos below taken from youtube since mine wouldnt upload, but they are from the Asheville concert.

This was a new song they sang called Below my Feet. It was pretty awesome..
My fav. White Blank Page.

Heres some cute pics of our time in Asheville.

What a awesome week/weekend!

1st off I finished a painting that I have been working on for a while about a week ago and Ive been meaning to post it.

So this week has been crazy, but awesome.
Monday I went to see Band of Horses @ the Johnny Mercer Theater in Savannah. They were pretty amazing especially when they played the funeral. His voice was amazing for this song! I mean they did great with the whole show, however it was more of a chill show. My Fav song performed off the new album was probably Laredo I wasn't able to get any pictures at the concert because immediately when we tried to take a picture we got caught by the camera police.

Tuesday went to a place in Pooler called frames and games and play laser tag, bowling and arcade game. However, I was awful at everything, but still it was so much fun and I cant wait to go back. Heres an awesome pic of laser tag. I lost horribly!

This weekend I went to the beach with my friend Helen and had a nice relaxing time! It was such a good day.
and also... Im so excited because my friend Helen got us tickets to go see Mumford & Sons in Asheville, NC! I wanted to go see them in ATL because its a bit closer, but tickets were soldout and the only way to get them is to pay ridiculous amounts of money to ticket hoards on stubhub! Im excited about a roadtrip though. I have always wanted to visit Asheville bc everyone says its beautiful! I am so excited to see this band live! This has been such a great week/weekend

I am dreading next week because I have to start studying for my next test, which is physics. I dont wanna!!

Recap of concerts from last year

So music is a big part of my life. I am pretty open to new music and I think its cool how much variety and different music I have began to love. Lately Ive been really into indie, folk, and alternative. This past year I tried to go to more concerts because Ive pretty much gone and saw the same people in concert over and over again. Ive been to see incubus 4 times and seen citizen cope 3 times. Incubus is my all time favorite band I can pretty much listen to any song of theirs and just be in love I will always try to go to see them perform. However this past year I went to see Kings of Leon, with Black keys and the Whigs; Local Natives with Union Line; and Yeasayer with Washed out; and also saw Mates of State with Free Energy. So here some videos of the shows I went to enjoy!!

This video is from Mates of State and Free energy. I didnt take very good videos when I was there, but this is cool because at the end of the show Free energy got on stage with Mates of State and just jammed out.

Next is Kings of Leon, Black Keys and the Whigs. I went and saw them in Tampa with my brother. My old roommate Brittany lives there with her boyfriend Bobby and they let us stay with them. We had such a good time! However it was a big venue and we had lawn seats. I rather go to smaller shows because its more up close and personal! It was hard to get good videos, but you at least hear it :)

The Black keys - tighten up

KOL - Knock up

Heres a picture of me and my brother @ the concert!

Next is Yeasayer which me and my brother saw at the Trustees Theater in Savannah. It was an awesome concert because we were right at the stage!
Yeasayer -Sunrise

Okay last but not least is Local Natives! I love them so much we were also right in front of the stage and I went with Kyle (brother), Kallie (my brothers gf) and my Courtney (my sister). We tied dye shirts and then wrote Local Natives on the front and then our favorite song on the back! Mine was cubism dream, kyle's was airplane, kallie's was cards and quarters, and courtney's was who knows who cares.
Also we got to take a picture with Andy Hamm (the bass player from local natives)

And we got a pic with the opening band Union Line (below) and those guys were pretty amazing too!
Heres some videos
1st one Union Line - strangers (really great song)

Next is Local Natives - Sunhands - this video is pretty amazing!

And next is Local natives - airplanes

So what concerts did you go to that you really enjoyed??
